Curtis & Kin began with a simple belief: skincare doesn't have to be complicated to be effective.
We're Solomon and Janae, a husband-and-wife team raising three young children while building something we hope will serve families for generations. During the day, Janae is at home homeschooling, homemaking, and handcrafting each batch of soap and skincare. Solomon works outside the home while helping lead the business behind the scenes. Every product is still made by our family, packed by our family, and created with the same care we'd want for the people closest to us.
The name Curtis & Kin reflects what matters most to us. "Kin" represents family, community, and caring for the people entrusted to us. Our products are made not only for those with sensitive skin, but for anyone who wants simple, trustworthy skincare they can confidently use every day.
Our journey began after struggling to find products that truly supported sensitive, reactive skin. Even many "natural" products were filled with long ingredient lists, harsh cleansers, heavy fragrances, or oils that didn't agree with our skin. Instead of adding more, we chose to remove what wasn't necessary.
That philosophy continues to guide everything we make.
We formulate with intentionally selected ingredients that each serve a purpose. Our products are handcrafted in small batches using nourishing oils, botanical ingredients, mineral-rich clays, pure essential oils when appropriate, and skin-supportive ingredients chosen for function rather than marketing. We intentionally avoid unnecessary fillers and many common irritants, including coconut oil, palm oil, artificial fragrance, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, and other ingredients we believe simply aren't needed.
Our faith shapes the way we approach our work. Scripture continually points us toward faithful stewardship, wisdom, honesty, and simplicity. We believe caring for our bodies is one way we honor the gifts God has given us, and that extends to the products we choose to use every day. Rather than chasing trends or endless routines, we believe thoughtful ingredients and consistent care often accomplish far more.
